Common questions

The mouth doesn't move when I talk

Check that YipYappy can use the microphone: Settings › YipYappy › Microphone. Speak close to the phone in a quiet place. If music is playing nearby, the character may follow it.

Live Face isn't showing

Live Face needs Face ID. If your device has it, allow camera access in Settings › YipYappy › Camera.

I can't pick a song from my music library

Allow access in Settings › YipYappy › Media & Apple Music. Songs streamed from Apple Music are protected by Apple and can't be used; songs you bought or synced can. You can also use Files, a video's sound, or YipYappy's built-in royalty-free music.

Where are my clips?

In the Clips tab, on your device. Tap a clip to save it to Photos, share it, trim it or make a GIF. Tap Select to join several clips into one.

Can I use the built-in music in my posts?

Yes. The tracks in Voice › Background music are original music made for YipYappy and free to use in the clips you make with the app, including when you share them.

How do I use ElevenLabs voices?

They're optional and use your own ElevenLabs account. In Pro Studio, open Voice › AI Voice, choose ElevenLabs and add your API key. You can turn it off any time under You › Privacy.

How do I delete my data?

Everything you make stays on your device, so there's no account to delete. Delete clips in the Clips tab and characters with a long press, or delete the app to remove everything.

Is YipYappy safe for kids?

Yes. Kids Mode never uses the camera, and sharing from Kids Mode is behind a grown-up check. The app has no ads, accounts or tracking. See the privacy policy.
